Durban — Three people were shot and killed while three others were left injured during an incident on Sunday morning in Durban.
ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that three people have been killed and three others seriously injured in a shooting incident on Market Road in the market area just before 11.30am on Sunday.
Jamieson said that ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find the SAPS already in attendance. A quick survey of the scene was conducted and immediately more ambulances as well as advanced life support paramedics were dispatched to the scene.
“Three people including two security guards were found with fatal gunshot wounds and despite advanced life support paramedics attempts to resuscitate them, there was nothing more paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene,” Jamieson said.
“Another three people including a security guard and a SAPS member sustained serious gunshot wounds and were stabilised on the scene by advanced life support paramedics before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that they required.”
Jamieson said that at this stage, the events leading up to the incident are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police are on the scene and will be investigating further.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said the scene is still active.
