South African DJ Honour “Cyan” Zuma is trending on social media after being beaten to a pulp. While it is still unclear who beat her so badly that she landed in hospital, the social media influencer poked fun of her situation by laughing at her bruises.

“After all, computers crash, people fall apart and all you need to do is reboot. It is day two of my face life, but it’s going quite well. Oh my gosh I love this side of it, this is the contour,” she said.

She also revealed that the incident, which took place on Monday, landed her in hospital for the night and shared that she is now back home trying to recover because she has to go to work.

“I’m basically back at home, I was admitted for a full night, I got discharged and I’m all by myself and that’s okay because it was very optional.

“I really had close people be with me the whole day, make jokes with me, you know it was so much fun. But back to reality, I have to work. I have to focus on healing so by Friday I can work,” she said, while nursing her bruises with a cloth full of ice.

While she didn’t disclose the details of the perpetrator, her fans concluded that it was probably a lover who grew jealous of her success.

Cyan was dating a man who grew jealous of her, his music career was going nowhere while her DJ’ing career & popularity grew. She also started losing weight & looking hotter (feeling more confident), he hated her hence why he went for her face,” said @___eatzz.

Others commented on how she’s been a victim of abuse but was making jokes about her latest incident.

“I suppose a lot of people are going to be upset at her for laughing and joking about it but if anything it shows just how much she’s been through in her young life. It’s incredibly sad that she’s learnt how to trivialise or shrug these things off,” one follower wrote.
