Gabriel Macht’s iconic Harvey Specter “Suits” character is set to feature in the series spin-off.

“Deadline” has reported that the suave lawyer will appear in a three-episode arc on NBC’s “Suits LA”, which will premiere in February. It is unclear when the show will be released in South Africa.

This will be the 52-year-old’s first return to the small screen since the legal drama ended in 2019.

After appearing on the hit series, which has made a resurgence on Netflix recently, Macht took a break from acting as he moved with his family to the UK.

“Suits”, which also starred Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres, was a resounding success as it aired for eight years, with Macht’s Harvey role, where he was dubbed the best closer in New York City, earned him widespread acclaim.

The actor recently took to Instagram to tease his return in the spin-off by posting a video of him putting on Harvey’s suit and shoes.

Alongside the “Suits” theme song, he wrote: “When an old friend is in need … it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right.”

As fans celebrate his upcoming appearance on “Suits LA”, “Deadline” added that the actor has always been at the top of wish lists to help launch the new series.

The publication explained that his character fits well with the premise of the new show as the “Suits LA” lead character Ted Black, with Stephen Amell taking up the role, share the same background as they both were former prosecutors in New York.

The new series is expected to centre around Ted, as it did with Harvey, who reinvents by moving to Los Angeles from the Big Apple and representing some of the city’s most powerful individuals.

“His firm is at a crisis point, and to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career,” “Deadline” reported.

They added: “Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other and they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

“All this happens while the show slowly unravels the events that years ago led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved to start all over.”

Meanwhile, the likes of Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg will feature on the new show.

Aaron Korsh, the creator of both the original and the spin-off, is also the “Suits LA” writer and executive producer.

Meanwhile, Macht told “E! News” earlier this month that he is thrilled about the spin-off.

"I hope the fans of our show make it an easy transition to their show," he was quoted as saying.

"They've got a lot of the same writers, a lot of the same directors, it's just a different location and some new characters. I think it's going to be great."

He even teased the possibility of his return at the time, adding: "If the opportunity arises where it makes sense for everyone and doesn't take away any focus, I think maybe we'll see some cameos."

It is unclear if any of the other “Suits” cast will also feature in the spin-off, with Rafferty also recently telling “E! News”: "If Donna is needed, I'm happy to put the shoes on."
