London - With a father called Ned Rocknroll, Kate Winslet’s new son was unlikely ever to be given a conventional name.

But now the actress has revealed exactly how she and her husband came up with Bear Blaze.

The baby’s first name was inspired by the nickname of one of her childhood friends. Miss Winslet, 38, said: “I always loved it, and he was very much a bear. He was everyone’s shoulder to cry on – he was a big bear hug.”

The couple then gave Bear the dramatic middle name Blaze to remind them of the terrifying incident when they first met.

They were among the guests at Sir Richard Branson’s private Caribbean island of Necker when a fire swept through it in 2011.

“We wanted something of the fire and so Blaze was the name that we came up with,” she said. - Daily Mail
