It is that time of year when we all try to rethink and reorganise our lives. Coming straight out of the New Year’s celebrations, I can say that this year has been one where people have truly embraced their personal styles while appreciating the styles of others.

In 2024, the colour red made waves — and I, too, embraced its appeal. However, by the time the 2025 fashion cycle begins, red will have waned in popularity, leaving the door open for new and exciting hues.
First on the list is blue, particularly baby blue. This versatile shade suits all skin tones and, as we head into summer, offers a sense of freshness reminiscent of the ocean. The various Pantone tones of blue have the ability to elevate even the simplest outfits.
For example, if you’re looking for a work outfit that’s both comfortable and polished, consider pairing a blue tank top with blue Levi’s straight-leg jeans and mesh sandals. And if the evening turns chilly, an oversized blue-striped shirt is the perfect layer to throw on.
Next up is a colour I never expected to trend: seafoam green. Throughout late 2024, it popped up in accessories, and it’s making a triumphant return to the streets.
This elegant and luxurious colour screams sophistication. Seafoam green looks especially stunning in fabrics like silk or faux leather, making it an excellent choice for anyone wanting to add a touch of glamour to their wardrobe.
Lastly, we have ‘barely butter’ — a subtle, pastel yellow that’s almost golden. It’s a gentle, understated hue that I’ve grown to love. Just the other day, I spotted someone with barely butter-yellow nails, and I immediately fell for the look.

Now that the colour is making a comeback, I’ve realised it can be the perfect accessory to elevate a basic outfit. With the summer heat in mind, simply draping it over your shoulders can add an effortless charm to your ensemble.
