NYPD veteran Michael Dee recently got the 'free car' surprise of a lifetime without even having to sit through a live Oprah show.

In a surprise handover carefully orchestrated by Toyota USA and his family, Michael was casually tanning meat on the BBQ in his back yard when Toyota executive Bill Fray - dressed in a suit and carrying balloons - strolled towards him and presented him with the title to the Camry he'd recently purchased, which Toyota had just paid off on his behalf.

And there was another surprise.

Bill then led him to his driveway where a brand new RAV4 was waiting.

The reason for this reward?

According to Toyota's records, Michael became Toyota USA's 50-millionth customer when he bought the Camry.

While we'll work on the assumption that the event - which you can watch on video below - was not staged, the lucky customer was visibly gobsmacked:

"I don't know what say!" he exclaimed. "This is phenomenal. I can't explain how much this means to my family and how grateful we are to Toyota! The whole 'thank you' thing just doesn't seem to cut it. It's a day I'll never forget."
