As far as the petrolheads at IOL Motoring are concerned this is going to be the star of the show at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, on from 11-13 January - and yes Cyril, that's the weekend before the opening of the Detroit motor show.
It's a heavily modified Toyota 86 coupé, built by Toyota's motorsports and tuning partner Gazoo Racing, called the GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum.
And for all those of you who said the standard 86's naturally aspirated, two-litre boxermotor didn't have the cojones, this one has a twin-charged (supercharger AND turbocharger!) version rated at 243kW and 431Nm, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual 'box and a limited-slip diff.
Chassis mods include new suspension, uprated brakes and special 18” alloys wrapped in 245/40 front and 265/35 rear rubber - and the whole thing weighs just 1248kg.
The teaser pics show new front and rear body panels, and a very tasty interior with bucket seats trimmed in white; Gazoo has promised full details and pictures once the show has opened.
