Children and teens below the age of 15 have been invited to share their visions of future mobility by drawing their dream cars for the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest.
The competition consists of a national contest as well as an international event for those who succeed in the former.
The contest for South Africans opened on December 2 and will run until February 16, 2025.
Winners from the local competition will get to represent their country in the World Contest, which takes place in Japan in August 2025.
Entrants are classified into three age groups: 7 years and under, 8 to 11 years and 12 to 1 years. Some exciting prizes are also up for grabs:
- 1st Place: PS5 to the value of R15,000 and WRC Game
- 2nd Place: Xbox One to the value of R7,000
- 3rd Place: HP Laptop to the value of R5,000
- 4th Place: Tablet to the value of R3,000

The contest, which aims to inspire young people to follow their dreams, has become one of the world’s biggest international art competitions, Toyota says. It was created to encourage young artists, especially those who have an interest in cars, to express their creativity through drawing.
“The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest encourages children to express their ideas about the future of transportation and mobility, highlighting the importance of creativity in problem-solving and innovation,” Tasneem Lorgat, General Manager of Marketing Communications at Toyota SA.
“By engaging with these young minds, we hope to inspire the next generation of innovators who will shape the future of mobility,” Lorgat added.
