Jakarta - A 12-year-old boy from Indonesia will start studying physics at a leading university in Canada, media reports said on Friday.
Cendikiawan "Diki" Suryaatmadja has been accepted to the University of Waterloo in Ontario on a scholarship, Indonesia's ambassador to Canada, Teuku Faizasyah, told the Jakarta Post.
"This is of course a source of inspiration for many Indonesian children and students," Faizasyah was quoted as saying.
As a gifted student, Diki skipped grades in his home country and learned English by himself, according to media reports.
He will live with his parents in an apartment near the university, the report said.
