Jakarta - A woman on the Indonesian island of Java was shocked when her husband, whom she believed had died a year earlier in an accident, showed up at her house, local media said on Thursday.
Waluyo, 62, left his wife in May 2015 to work in the nearby city of Yogyakarta, news website Detik.com reported.
Days later, a man resembling Waluyo was seriously injured in a road accident and died after a week in a coma.
Waluyo's wife, Alim Eskatinah, said the body matched the physical appearance of her husband. She claimed the deceased and buried him.
"He had a scar on his back because of a skin condition," Alim said. "He also had a missing tooth."
But Waluyo reappeared at his wife's house on Tuesday, telling her he had lived as a vagabond after his job as a pedicab driver in Yogyakarta went bad.
"I asked him to name our relatives and he named them correctly," the man's cousin, Sadari, told the news website Okezone.com.
