Washington - The New Hampshire lottery has chosen what it says is an “enticing” scent for its first scratch-and-sniff lottery tickets.
They smell like bacon.
The lottery launched the bacon-scented scratch-and-sniff tickets in early January. Each I Heart Bacon scratch ticket costs 1 dollar, and winners play for a chance to win 1,000 dollars.
“The I Heart Bacon scratch ticket combines two things people love: the chance to win cash and the wonderful, enticing smell of bacon,” New Hampshire Lottery Commission executive director Charlie McIntyre said.
Ticket have sold like hotcakes since the scented tickets were introduced, New Hampshire lottery manager Kelley-Jay Rosberg said.
The lottery agency will visit several New Hampshire locations in a bacon truck through the end of the month to advertise the tickets. Players will receive free slices of bacon to promote the scratch-and-sniff tickets, which are part of a focus on developing new ways to engage customers.
