London - A 6ft migrant was caught hiding in a suitcase on a train from Italy to Switzerland.
The Eritrean had squeezed himself into the case and had been wheeled onto the train in Milan by a friend. But the discomfort took its toll after 45 minutes, causing him to cry out as the train crossed the border.
Passengers alerted authorities after hearing noises from the unattended bag. Guards then removed the case and were stunned when a hand emerged.
They filmed the moment the migrant reached his arm out of the case then wriggled his head free. He struggled to undo the zip so guards had to free him, while his friend was found hiding in the train’s toilet.
Authorities said they were already aware of the migrants and had planned to stop the train even before passengers heard the noise.
The men, travelling without documents, were sent back to Italy.
