Smartcall Technology Solutions (STS) has announced a three-year partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA), positioning itself as the official mobile fan engagement partner.

The partnership extends across South Africa’s national football teams including Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana, the SA U21 and the SAFA Schools League.

STS will provide a mobile web platform for football fans to engage with their favourite sport and have exclusive access to content that brings them closer to the game than ever before.

Janene Matsukis, CEO of STS, said that the partnership is about more than just mobile technology.

“Together with SAFA, we will offer more. More behind the scenes, more statistics, more games and more interaction, because we know that an educated, involved and engaged fan is the ultimate asset to any National team,” Matsukis said.

Subscribers to the platform will receive exclusive insights from the national teams, including in-depth player status reports from national camps, coach statements, player and post-match statistics, line ups and a live match centre, as well as access to other SAFA leagues.

The standout feature is that of the STS Gamification Service which includes Pick ‘em tournaments, Fantasy tournaments and the hugely popular Predictor.

In addition, fans will have access to matchday activations, competitions, giveaways, and hospitality events.

SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao expressed excitement over the partnership, particularly because of its focus on fan engagement through mobile platforms, which aligns perfectly with SAFA's vision of digitising their assets and enhancing the experience for football fans.

“It is with great pleasure to welcome SmartCall Technology Solution into the SAFA sponsor family. Football fans get inside news from all our national teams and get to know the players well. As SAFA we will also be able to connect better with fans through this partnership,” said Monyepao.
