Saltburn” star Barry Keoghan is now set to star alongside Oscar winner Cillian Murphy in “Peaky Blinders” movie.

The Irish actor was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Dominic Kearney in the 2022 comedy horror, “The Banshees of Inisherin”.

And while his role in the British drama is still being kept under wraps, “Deadline” reported that Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson is also set to join the cast.

The television version of “Peaky Blinders” has earned widespread acclaim since it was released on BBC in September 2013.

The show, which is also streaming on Netflix, centres around Tommy Shelby (Murphy), a dangerous man who leads the Peaky Blinders, a gang based in Birmingham.

Chester Campbell, an inspector, decides to nab him and put an end to the criminal activities.

Murphy won an Oscar this year for his role in “Oppenheimer”. He stars alongside Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle and Helen McCrory, alongside others in the “Peaky Blinders” series.

Netflix approved the movie version in June, with the movie also set to be made in association with BBC Film. Directed by Tom Harper, it will also be written by the show’s creator, Steven Knight, who will produce the film alongside Murphy, Caryn Mandabach and Guy Heeley.

The executive producers include Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren and David Mason.

While plot is still under wraps, Knight previously told “Deadline” that the movie’s story would be set during World War II and that production is expected to begin this year.

Meanwhile, Keoghan also won a Bafta for Best Supporting Actorin Martin McDonagh’s 2022 hit movie. He already has featured in the Apple TV+ limited series “Masters of the Air” and starred in “Andrea Arnold’s Bird”, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Some of his upcoming productions include roles in “Bring Them Down”, an untitled film from Trey Edward Shults, alongside the Weeknd and Jenna Ortega, and he is in negotiations to join Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in Amazon MGM Studios adaptation of Don Winslow’s novella “Crime 101”.

In addition, Keoghan also recently appeared in Sabrina Carpenter’s music video for “Please, Please, Please”.

He is currently in a high-profile relationship with the pop star, although rumours are swirling that they split.
