Being overweight can be detrimental to someone’s health, not only physically but mentally too.

Most people who are overweight tend to have low self-esteem. That is why famous TikToker Erin McGuire decided two years ago that she wanted to take care of herself and start a weight-loss programme.

She opened up about changing her relationship with food and staying consistent at the gym, which helped her achieve her dream body.

In two years, McGuire managed to lose more than 150 pounds (68kg).

“I told myself to get it the f*** together and stop hoping and praying my life would change because that’s not enough.

“You need to put in the work and stay consistent and disciplined no matter how much it may suck because regardless, at the end of the day, I’ll be tired but I’m making a difference in my life and achieving goals I never thought I’d ever see in this lifetime.

“I decided it was time to stop feeling like I was surviving every day I woke up and struggling to do basic life chores because I was in so much pain,” she said.

@erinnn_rosee June 4th, 2022 Has a very special place in my heart. This was the day I stood up to myself and took control of my life. I told myself to get it the f*** together and stop hoping and praying my life would change because that’s not enough. You need to put the work in, stay consistent and disciplined no matter how much it may suck. Because regardless at the end of the day I’ll be tired but I’m making a difference in my life and achieving goals I thought I’d never see in this lifetime. I decided it was time to stop feeling like I was surviving every day I woke up and struggling to do basic life chores because I was in so much pain. I was tired of missing opportunity after opportunity because I was insecure within myself. This journey has been so much more than losing weight. I feel in love with myself, respect myself and hold myself to a higher standarded because I healed and learned my worth. Problems don’t go away with weight loss. You need to break bad habits, heal your relationship with food and your relationship with yourself🫶🏼 Today June 4th, 2024 I am celebrating not only losing over 150lbs !!!!! But being blessed enough to be happy, healthy, able to freely move my body and confident enough to take chances to achieve my goals 💕 It was a very long and rough journey but I’d do it again and again in any lifetime❤️ #weightloss #naturalweightloss #weightlossjourney #losingweight #caloriedeficit #lowcalorie #lowcarb #fyp #foryoupage #150lbsdown #weightlossmotivation #weightlosstransformation #weightlossjourney #weightlossprogress #weightlosstips #weightlosscomparison #trends #trending #viral #gymrat #gymtrends #healthy #healingjourney #healthylifestyle #gains #girlsthatlift #weightlifting #strengthtraining #loveyourself #selflove #100lbsweightloss #100poundweightloss #throwbacks #fitnesstrend #fitnessgirly #gymgirly #goals #achievements #consistency #discipline #gymsplit #musclegains #musclemommy #wolfpack #wolfpak ♬ original sound - Mindset_Success_Mentality

She explained that being overweight made her miss out on so many opportunities because she was not confident enough and was not in love with herself.

“This journey has been so much more than losing weight. I fell in love with myself, respected myself and held myself to a higher standard because I healed and learnt my worth. Problems don’t go away with weight loss.

“You need to break bad habits, heal your relationship with food and your relationship with yourself,” McGuire said.

Her journey inspired many people, proving that anything is possible if you’re determined to do all the work for your desired results.

“When I see people’s outcomes like this, I’m not proud because of the body transformation but the emotional battle, which is the hardest part. I’m so proud of you,” commented @Treyy.

Today, McGuire is a fitness and wellness coach who continues the gym life even after achieving her goal of staying in shape.
