WhatsApp has added new features for WhatsApp calls as calling on WhatsApp continues to grow in popularity across the globe, according to a statement from the social messaging platform.
WhatsApp said that now more than two billion calls are made every single day using the app.
Ahead of the festive season, WhatsApp is introducing new calling features across for both desktop and mobile that will make connecting with your loved ones much easier.
Here's a look at the four WhatsApp calling features:
- Select call participants: Now when you start a call from a group chat, you can select specific participants for the group chat which will allow you to call exactly who you want without disrupting the rest. This is ideal for planning surprise parties or presents.
- New effects for video calls: You can now choose between ten effects to transform your video calls into even more fun conversations. The new effects include puppy ears, going underwater, or a microphone for karaoke.
- Improved calling on desktop: Now when you click the calls tab on the WhatsApp desktop app, you can find everything you need to start a call, create a call link, or dial a number directly.
- Better quality video calls: Whether you are using a desktop or mobile to make a call, the calls are now more reliable, and you can enjoy higher resolution video with a clearer picture for both one on one calls and group calls.
WhatsApp said that they will continue to make improvements to WhatsApp calling so you can make the best quality, private calls from all around the world.
