The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) confirmed that Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, the ‘people’s bae’ and Yazini Tetyana, have resigned from Parliament.
The EFF said it had received the voluntary resignations of both Tetyana and Ndlozi.
“The voluntary requests to be released from deployment, which were sent to the Secretary General of the EFF consecutively and within days of each other, expressed gratitude to the EFF for the opportunity to serve the organisation and the people of South Africa.
“The EFF has accepted the respective voluntary requests to be released from deployment of the two Fighters, who have diligently served the organisation in their respective deployments since the EFF has had representation in the legislative sphere,” the statement reads.
Tetyana served in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature and later in Parliament, while Ndlozi has been a member of the National Assembly since 2014.
Tensions within the EFF have been escalating, leading to Ndlozi's resignation. This comes after a series of events, including him being barred from attending the party's elective conference in Johannesburg last month.
Some X users criticized the politician's resignation from parliament, speculating that he was forced out and predicting his imminent departure from the party, while others expressed support for his decision.
“The need to specify the resignations were voluntary is a red flag on its own. They were clearly pushed out, said @Sicelo_702black.

“Mnxim. I really regret my vote for you guys in last year’s elections. How Julius has treated Dr Ndlozi in the past few months is appalling and disappointing. I’m deeply hurt,” said @Akhona_B.
“He served well, chose the movement when others were leaving but the insults just got too much. Resignation from parliament will be followed by a resignation from the EFF,” said @AHT_YssY.
The inclusion of the word "voluntary" was not necessary - not after everything that has happened 😂😂 Be very serious. You also mention it too many times.
