A teenager has been arrested for allegedly raping a Grade R pupil in Zola, Soweto, police said yesterday.
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the 14-year-old boy was arrested around midnight.
The five-year-old girl did not return from school on Tuesday afternoon, and the mother went looking for her.
“The girl told her mother she was stopped from going home by the teenager.
“He undressed her and raped her.”
Makhubela said this happened in an empty classroom.
The boy ran away.
He was expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court today. – Sapa
