The 25-year-old taxi driver who was arrested for the rape of a 13-year-old girl has been denied bail.
Bongani Mlangeni appeared in the Protea Magistrate’s Court yesterday. He is charged with kidnapping and three counts of rape.
Mlangeni denied the charges against him and told the court that he had consensual sex with the child.
Magistrate Brian Nemavhidi denied Mlangeni bail because the victim is a minor.
During the bail application, it was argued that Mlangeni had three children to support, but this did not prevent the magistrate from denying
him bail.
