A LANDLORD was stabbed to death in Soweto after an argument with a tenant, police said yesterday.

SAPS Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the man was struck with a sharp object on Thursday night and wounded in the neck after he gave a couple notice to vacate the Doornkop property.

The landlord died at the scene.

Makhubela said a panga might have been used in the attack.

The tenant ran off, but his wife remained at the scene.

She was arrested and was to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court today to face a charge of murder.

The woman’s husband had still not been found by last night.

Meanwhile two people who were arrested in connection with a mutilated body found in a Freedom Park house were still in custody yesterday after their case was postponed for further investigation.

A traditional healer and his patient were arrested on Thursday afternoon.

SAPS Captain Pinky Tsinyane said a visitor found the body of the 39-year-old man on the floor in his house on Wednesday morning.

“The nose was cut off and one eye was missing from the body. The motive for the murder is still not clear, but community members suspect it is muti related,” she said.

Tsinyane said the 39-year-old healer and his 21-year-old patient were the last people to be seen with the murdered landlord.

“A 46-year-old woman was also arrested in connection with the case,” she added.

The suspects appeared at the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Friday to face murder charges, but the case was postponed to this Friday for further investigation.

All three suspects remain in custody.
