De Hoek Country House in Magaliesberg is adding extra élan to its country offerings on the weekend of 5,6,7 August as enthralled guests take to the early morning skies in hot air balloons with Air Ventures Hot Air Ballooning.

Weekend guests taking advantage of this event, will be welcomed to De Hoek on Friday and after a day of exploring the grounds, investigating the treasures that the hamlet of Magaliesberg has to offer or taking advantage of the facilities on offer at this five star country retreat, will gather in the Garden Pavilion for a talk on hot air ballooning done by the pilots. Once everyone’s appetite for adventure has been whet, culinary appetites will be tested and treated with a five course, crystal and silver-served gourmet dinner.

An early night may not be everyone’s choice, but the welcoming and plush rooms will offer warm comfort as guests drift into dreams of tomorrow’s sky flight. The early morning will see guests gathering shortly after dawn to enjoy steaming coffee and home made rusks as the balloons are readied, embarkation sorted and the magnificent balloons gently drift into the mountain skies.

An hour of floating over the exquisite scenery in this area and the rare opportunity to see the magical landscape from a bird’s eye view ends before the sumptuous breakfast prepared by the talented hotel chefs.

A day of leisure follows on the grounds of De Hoek.

As the Highveld sun sets, guests will be delighted at the bright night skies that magically appear and guests will be treated to a presentation and star gazing with Astronomy Africa from sunset until late into the night. Add to this a buffet dinner, good wine and fine company: the scenario will lack nothing but a deep sigh of pure relaxation and an overall sense of unmatched pleasure.

A leisurely breakfast will end the weekend for our pampered guests as they wander slowly back to the city, refreshed and revived by their new experiences.

At a cost of R9,995 per couple, this is the package to spoil a loved one, re-kindle a lost sense of adventure and guarantee the deepest sense of wellbeing you have felt in a while.

De Hoek’s sixteen suits will be in demand for this weekend, so confirm your reservation while you can and call them on 014 577 9600 or email [email protected].
