South African TV presenter, actor and avid traveller Maps Maponyane recently gave his fans and followers an exclusive look inside his luxurious holiday abroad.
Taking to Instagram recently, Maponyane reflected on his deep connection with the City of Lights, intertwining his personal history with the cultural richness of France.
“Exploring the beauty of Paris with a heart full of home. It’s a journey of food, culture, fashion and familiarity. Where culture meets connection. Every journey reminds me of home in the most beautiful way,” he wrote.
In the accompanying video, he narrated that Paris holds a special place in his heart.
“Paris and France as a whole, is a pretty special place for me because I have been fortunate enough to come here numerous times over the years. It’s beautiful to be able to come to a place that has such a rich culture and diversity.
“There is something special about being able to come here and being a person who is a lover of languages, being able to communicate in French,” said Maponyane.
However, it is not solely the language and iconic landmarks that entice him; food also plays an equally significant role.
Proudly representing his South African heritage, Maponyane expressed his passion for the culinary delights: “As South Africans, we just love food and I find that anytime I travel, I am on a mission to find really good food. That’s probably my big connection to home.”
This connection goes beyond just tasting; it’s also about observing how cultures evolve and intertwine.
“It’s quite lovely to be able to travel between the two, seeing how both places are evolving and being able to merge the two to create something even more beautiful,” shared Maponyane.
