Probation officer’s about-turn in family killer’s sentence

After learning that the version provided by the accused in an interview of how the fire was started was not what an expert fire witness had deduced a probation officer made an about-turn in recommending that the Durban High Court deviate from the minimum sentence for a Phoenix man convicted of murdering his wife, three children, and nephew in a fire deliberately started by him.
