British singer Craig David who will arrive on Cape Town’s shores in four weeks, is excited to share his new music with local fans.
David is on a world tour and will make a stop in Cape Town on December 8 where the audience can enjoy timeless hits as well as songs from his latest album, 22.
One of the singles from the album is the track Obvious which features American singer Muni Long.
Long, who is known for her hit track, Hrs & Hrs, said she was happy to have created this track with David.
“We can’t wait to perform this song live and I am happy we got to make this song together,” she said.
David said it was an amazing experience.
“I learned so much from her in the process of writing this song. We started with a template and I reached out to her telling her how much I love Hrs & Hrs and her track Time Machine,” he said.
“We went back and forth applauding each other’s music and chose to work together. She was in the US while I was in London and I knew that Obvious was the track I wanted to feature her on.
David said he knew that she would grasp the concept of the track quite easily.
“She wrote her verse so quickly and what I loved about it is that she represented a part that I could never represent objectively,” he said.
“She blew me away and I loved it. It was so raw and authentic compared to if I tried presenting that,” he added.
“I have so much love for her because she knew what she was doing and she told me that women will appreciate it.”
