Halle Berry and her long-time partner, musician Van Hunt, are officially engaged.

The 59-year-old Oscar winner shared the happy news during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on February 5, 2026.

While she was on the show to discuss her upcoming project, “Crime 101”, the conversation quickly turned to her love life.

The official confirmation puts an end to a year of heavy speculation regarding the couple's status.

The "confusion" stemmed from an interview Hunt gave back in June 2025 on “Today with Jenna & Friends.”

At that time, he admitted he had proposed but said the answer was "still on hold" and "floating out there."

Berry used her time with Jimmy Fallon to set the record straight about why she hadn't given a public "yes" until now.

She clarified that she did not say no, and they just do not have a date.

“I did not say 'no,' we just don't have a date. Of course, I said 'yes, I would marry him,” she said.

The actress took a moment to show off her engagement ring, which features a multi-karat diamond set on a gold band.

“He did put a little ring on it,” she said as she flashed her ring.

During the 2025 interview with “Today,” Berry explained why she isn’t rushing to the altar.

“Well, I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don’t,” she said.

“But I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married,” she added.

The couple has been together for nearly six years, having first met virtually during the pandemic in 2020.

Introduced by Hank’s brother, they spent months building an emotional foundation through phone calls before ever meeting in person.

This will be Berry's fourth marriage. She was previously married to baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997 and R&B singer Eric Benet from 2001 to 2005.

Her third marriage to French actor Olivier Martinez lasted from 2013 to 2016, although the divorce was not finalised until 2023, after years of legal back and forth.

Berry is also a mother to two children. She shares her 17-year-old daughter, Nahla, with her former partner, model Gabriel Aubry.

Following their separation, the two were involved in a high-profile custody battle that resulted in Berry being ordered to pay $16,000 a month in child support, a figure that was later reduced to $8,000.

She also has a 12-year-old son, Maceo, with Olivier Martinez. Their divorce settlement in 2023 included a ruling that Berry must pay $8,000 a month in child support for Maceo, along with an additional 4.3 per cent of any annual income she earns over $2 million.
