South African pop star Tyla continues her winning streak on the global stage as she stacks up the trophies after scooping the Outstanding International Song honours at the 57th National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards for her hit single “Is It”.

The win was announced ahead of the televised ceremony, which honours excellence by people of colour across music, film, television and literature.

It’s another major milestone for the Johannesburg-born artist, whose rise shows no signs of slowing down. She also makes history by being the first South African artist to win a NAACP award.

“Is It” stood out in a competitive category that included heavyweights such as Burna Boy, Davido featuring Omah Lay, Tiwa Savage and Skip Marley.

This is the first time Tyla has won an award for the song, which was released as a single from her “We Wanna Party” mixtape

The award-winning track is like a confidence booster in song form. You can’t help but move your body to the beat, and before you know it, you’re replaying it on repeat.

The recognition adds to an already impressive run for Tyla, who has been steadily collecting international accolades while pushing South African sound into global conversations.

The award also follows her recent Grammy win for Best African Music Performance, further cementing her place as one of Mzansi’s biggest musical exports right now.

Following the announcement, BET publicly congratulated Tyla, celebrating her journey and impact. In a post shared online, the network praised the singer’s continued rise, referencing her standout performances and the momentum she has built since breaking into the global mainstream.
