News of the "The Real Housewives of Pretoria" and "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: South Africa" star Melany "Mel" Viljoen and her husband Peet Viljoen’s arrest in the United States has been met with humor and conjecture.

According to US publication, WPLG Local 10, the Viljoen couple was arrested for stealing more than $5,300 from Publix over the last 6 months, per a Boca Raton police report.

“She stated she was stealing because she was in survival mode and has not worked since coming to the U.S. due to not having a Visa,” a Boca Raton police officer wrote, according to an arrest report.

Many are rejoicing that karma has finally caught up with the famous couple. One person who is not crying over any split milk over the arrest is "The Mommy Club" star and businesswoman Happy 'HerMajesty' Simelane.

Simelane took to social media, like many, and reacted to the news of the arrest. She shared on her Instagram stories a screenshot of an article and wrote, "karma never miss."

She then further commented on palmbeach____mugshots that; "Karma never miss🙌 this people stole to a lot of South Africans and ran to 🇺🇸 😂😂😂they have multiple pending cases here in South Africa."

Simelane sued the Viljoens after she paid R2.8 million, which was intended for a Tammy Taylor franchise, but she never received the keys to the store. She then sued them and, in a default judgment in March 2023, a judge ordered Tammy Taylor Nails SA to repay the R2.8 million plus costs.

"The Mommy Club” detailed on “Carte Blanche” that she paid the Viljoens the hefty sum, but never received ownership of the beauty salon.

Melanie defended herself and Peet on reality shows, on "The Real Housewives of Pretoria" and "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: South Africa." During a heated moment on “RHUGT”, Melanie stirred the pot further by suggesting that HerMajesty “sued herself” over the disputed funds.

The Viljoens moved to the US last year, following a US court judgment ordering them to pay the original Tammy Taylor US company $4 million (R 71 million) in statutory damages for trademark infringement and breach of contract.

The Viljoens, in a Facebook video post, explained they received a default judgment from the US court, and although Tammy Taylor demanded $100 million, the final court order awarded roughly $4 million, tied to the now-sold company. Peet argued:

“She might as well have sued the moon. I applied for an interdict in South Africa, but she refused to respond. I also have the order (from the US court).”

He added, “All the order says is that she loses her rights on the trademark in South Africa; she gets $4 million, but this is against the company. I sold that company two years before the default judgment.”
