South African influencer and DJ Cyan Boujee has broken her silence after briefly deactivating her social media accounts, citing personal reasons and the need for a break.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Boujee clarified that her time offline was intentional and not linked to the swirl of rumours circulating online.
“I deactivated my accounts for personal reasons and to take a break. I’d appreciate it if people stop spreading misinformation. Don’t link me to people I know nothing about. I’ve been quiet this whole year. Y’all have been talking!! Venda guys, Zimbabweans, random marriage rumours like? I hate this entitlement. GOING OFF AGAIN AND I WILL COME BACK WHEN I WANT.”
Boujee’s statement comes amid widespread speculation connecting her to Kagiso Michael Lerutla, the Ekurhuleni City Manager and businessman, who was recently arrested at OR Tambo International Airport.

According to reports, Lerutla appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court alongside suspended EMPD acting chief commissioner Julius Mkhwanazi.
The pair face charges including fraud, corruption and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
Online users quickly speculated about alleged connections between Lerutla and several influencers, including Boujee, claiming he financed lavish lifestyles through illicit funds.
However, there has been no official confirmation linking Boujee to any criminal investigation or wrongdoing.
Claims that she received financial support tied to corruption - including allegations about a luxury property purchase - remain unverified and based purely on online speculation.
Her temporary disappearance from social media further fuelled these narratives, with some suggesting she was distancing herself from the controversy.
Boujee has now firmly rejected those claims.
In addition to addressing the corruption-linked speculation, Boujee also shut down separate rumours about her personal life.
She denied claims that she is married or romantically involved with individuals described online as a “Venda guy” or “Zimbabwean guy”.
