Mshefane, Buhle B and Kokii have been evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa house, making it a total of seven housemates that have left the house since the season 6 started.
Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa host, Smash Afrika marched on to the stage for the Sunday Live Evictions Show, highlighting the tension that seemed to dampen the spirit of the week’s Asipheli Umoya (We never give up) theme.
Starting off was a look at Monday night’s face-to-face nominations, which to some level contributed to the tensions and side-eyes that followed in the house.
Smash went on to question some housemates on how the week was for them…with Neliswa admitting that it was a hectic week “conversations taken out of context and girls being girls”.
As if things were not tense enough, Smash asked all the evicted housemates to stand up and this time called Didi’s name first saying: “You are safe!”
Mshefane was the sixth housemate to leave the house was Kokii who was shocked at her eviction admitting that she was surprised at how she was not in tears considering how unexpected her eviction was to her. After reviewing her journey in the house though, she couldn’t help but let those tears flow.
Meanwhile, in a first for the season, Buhle B became the seventh housemate to leave the house, and she said she believed that it’s all God’s plan and His timing for her to be out, adding: “Obviously I’m sad, I left my man in there…”The week that was & The Wager
Following Biggie’s twist where he divided the housemates by gender, the guys were the ones who were victorious in this week’s wager task. Preparation for the wager task required discipline as the house was stripped of luxuries to help housemates maintain mental clarity and a competitive spirit. In their gender groupings, the housemates had to create a dynamic, effective exercise routine not shorter than 30 minutes. Moreover, they were required to track their daily progress in the outdoor fitness zone, as their data and personal journey of improvement form a vital component of the wager presentation.
The camp which showed collective improvements during their time was to be exempt from cooking for the next three days, and the camp with the least improvements would pick up that slack. The tension within the ladies’ camp proved to be too much and destructive to their collective effort, something which was also noted by the men.
What started as a basic conversation about chores turned into gender wars the moment Ilano voiced what many of the ladies were thinking: they’re tired of cleaning up after the gents. Cooking and washing dishes? Nah, the math wasn’t mathing. Add the lingering pool party drama, with Thandeka accusing Trixie of being controlling, it was clear the women were struggling to find harmony as side-eyes and misunderstandings piled up.
On the romance front, it looked like the house was emotionally taxed. Bravo B admitted that his fallout with Trixie had drained him, and Trixie told Neliswa that she is done with her situationship and would walk away from it. Diary sessions later exposed just how heavy the week had been for the ladies, with feelings of isolation, frustration and mistrust dominating the energy.
On Thursday night Biggie lifted the punishment and reunited the house. The response? Immediate! Thandeka sprinted to Mmeli, Buhle B and Tumi the Barber locked lips, and Bravo B and Trixie found themselves circling familiar territory again. King Wanda’s Lottostar win of R10 000 added some spice, and Zakha Pay also came through for some of the housemates who showed the most grit and improvement in the Big Brother Fitness course: Trixie, Ramona, Bravo B, Thandeka, The Don and King Wanda topping their wallets with an extra R500 for each. One thing was clear: the chaos had only just begun.
Saturday night took things from spicy to straight-up volatile. After the Saturday night Chillers party, sponsored by Chillers Punch where DJ Lamiez held it down for the housemates, King Wanda’s missing drink became the spark that lit the fire, with Tumi the Barber immediately catching the blame. What should’ve been a small question turned into a loud, messy showdown, with insults flying and egos bruised. King Wanda went for the jugular, questioning Tumi’s relevance and dragging Buhle B into the drama.
The situation got uglier when Kokii revealed that Tumi had once said Dene Jones was his first choice, while King Wanda alleged Tumi claimed Buhle B’s only “missing” factor was her looks. Elsewhere, Bravo B hit his breaking point, venting about feeling constantly compared to Que and emotionally drained by Trixie. Trixie, however, told Didi and Neliswa that Que gives her the attention, but Bravo B doesn’t, which led to him (Bravo B) finally snapping, telling her to go be with Que if that’s what she wants.
With bruised egos, exposed feelings and trust hanging by a thread, the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa house is now a full-on pressure cooker, and one wrong move could blow the lid off.
