Get ready for a glimpse into the lives of one of Hollywood's most beloved families.
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin's new reality show, “The Baldwins”, featuring the couple and their seven children, is set to premiere on TLC Africa on March 24.
The couple showcase an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at their life with seven children - Carmen, 11; Rafael, nine; Leonardo, eight, Romeo, six; Eduardo, four; Marilu, four; and Ilaria, two -and how they navigate the highs and lows of parenthood, marriage, and life in the public eye.
Baldwin rose to fame in the 1980s with roles in films like “Working Girl” and “Married To The Mob”, to list a few. He is also known for his iconic role as Jack Donaghy in the NBC sitcom “30 Rock”, which earned him multiple Emmy Awards.
In his personal life, Baldwin has been married to Hilaria, a yoga instructor, author and podcaster, since 2012.
Their large, lively family has often made headlines, and now, fans will get to see the behind-the-scenes action of how they handle it all.
“This series gives viewers a glimpse into our lives as a family - the good, bad, wild, and everything in between.
“We hope viewers will connect with our experiences and the love we share. Filming the show has been an amazing journey, and we’re proud to have TLC as a partner in telling our story,” the couple said.
Viewers will also get to see how Alec and Hilaria navigate the emotional complexities of Alec's trial, all while keeping their children’s lives as stable as possible.
In October 2021, a prop gun that was held by Alec discharged a bullet on the set of “Rust”, a film he was working on at the time, which led to accidentally killing the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring film director Joel Souza.
Alec and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were charged with involuntary manslaughter. Gutierrez-Reed was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison, while Baldwin’s charges were dismissed.
Gutierrez-Reed's trial ran from February 21 to March 6, 2024, while Baldwin's trial ran from July 9 to 12, 2024.
The reality show premiered in the US in February, and now the TLC Africa audience gets to have an intimate look at the family’s daily life.
“TLC has always been a platform for compelling stories. With 'The Baldwins', viewers gain an unprecedented look into Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s family journey,” said Howard Lee, President of TLC.
“As they navigate parenthood, marriage and life under the spotlight, the series blends moments of joy, chaos and sincerity offering a genuine portrayal beyond the headlines,” he added.
From family dinners to school runs and from parenting challenges to heart-warming moments, the show will cover it all.
"The Baldwins" will premiere on on TLC (DStv channel 135) on Monday, March 24, at 9pm.
