Grammy Award winning rapper Cardi B has announced she is pregnant in an Instagram post. Just as fans were digesting the news of her and Offset’s split, Cardi B shares that she is going to be a mom again.
Known for her spirited and unapologetic personality, Cardi B rose to fame in 2015 when clips of her on the cast of American reality show “Love and Hip Hop: New York” circulated the internet. Growing even bigger with the release of her hit single “Bodak Yellow” in 2017.
The announcement comes a day after filing for divorce from her husband Offset who is also a rapper. Offset has five children by four different women, two of which he shares with Cardi B. Three year old daughter Kulture and two year old son Wave.
Offset, 32, and Cardi B, 31, filed for divorce after six years of marriage. The New York based ‘People’ magazine shared that Cardi’s representative confirmed to them that "It's not based on cheating rumours, but rather has been a long time coming."
On August 1st she posted pictures showing off her baby bump in a photoshoot on Instagram. The post was captioned “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!”
“Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!” she wrote.
Congratulations messages and reactions from fans and other celebrities flooded her the post’s comment section including South African dancer Bontle Modiselle and American rapper Lola Brooke.
