Fashion designer Lukhanyo Mdingi celebrates new collaboration
Multi-award-winning fashion designer Lukhanyo Mdingi has had a successful year. To close it off, he’s toasting with Don Julio after being announced as one of the creatives joining the brand’s Artist Residency.
The Don Julio Artist Residency is an inspiring programme celebrating the fusion of South African and Mexican creativity, craftsmanship and culture.
Featuring artists like Kelvin Momo, Mdingi, Crystal Birch and Imraan Christian, this residency bridges cultures through collaborative art, music and fashion, culminating in a grand showcase on December 17.
As part of the brand’s “Por Amor” (For The Love) campaign, the creatives will showcase their South African and Mexican love story.

Furthermore, Amapiano sensation Momo, who is also part of the campaign, highlights the role of sound in artistic expression.
“Music, like tequila, is crafted with passion and intention. This collaboration allows us to connect with global audiences," he said.
In other news, Mdingi recently showcased Confections x Collections (CxC) debut at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, his first fashion show outside of Paris in years.
“A return that feels essential. With South Africa’s vibrant arts and culture community, returning through the platform of CxC holds profound significance. There’s a bigger picture to this,” he said.
