A video showing a serious collision reportedly linked to a drag race in Pretoria on Sunday night has shocked social media users around South Africa.

The viral footage, first posted by X user @abramjee, shows a modified 1990s Honda Ballade travelling at high speed along Steve Biko Road before colliding with a white Renault Kwid that was crossing the roadway.
In the video, the smaller vehicle appears to enter the intersection moments before the impact.
A private security group, Suburban Control Centre, posted on social media that one person was killed and several others were injured, although this has not been confirmed by authorities.
The group also claimed that illegal drag racing has been an ongoing issue in the area, raising safety concerns for road users.
