CENTURION - The Momentum Multiply Titans announced their intent in the one-day cup competition in emphatic fashion on Sunday, blasting past Goldrush Boland by 13 runs in their opening 50-over fixture at the iconic SuperSport Park. The win was built on a breathtaking century from Lhuan'dre Pretorius, whose blistering 101 off just 74 balls set the platform for a performance befitting South Africa's most decorated domestic franchise.
Pretorius's knock was the kind that makes pulses quicken in the stands. The young Titans star didn't just accumulate runs – he dominated, striking with the authority of a batter in full command of his craft. His fourth List A century came at a strike rate that left the Boland attack searching for answers, and gave his side a total that would prove more than enough.
The 13-run victory margin reflected a controlled team effort, with the Titans' bowling and fielding departments holding firm to protect the target and confirm a winning start to the campaign.
