Centurion’s beloved SuperSport Park will come alive this Sunday when the 2nd Annual Legends Match returns, bringing together some of South African cricket and sport’s most celebrated names for an afternoon of nostalgia, entertainment, and competitive spirit.

The Titans Legends and Blue Bulls Legends once again step back to the crease at one of the country’s most iconic cricket grounds – a venue that holds even greater significance this year as SuperSport Park marks its 40th anniversary. It is a homecoming that promises to be as memorable as the milestone it honours.

AB de Villiers, the Titans’ Legend captain, returns once again to lead his side. A product of Centurion and a legend of world cricket, Mr 360 always draws a crowd whenever he picks up a bat. This year, however, he faces a formidable new opponent in the form of rugby legend Fourie du Preez, the former Springbok and Blue Bulls scrumhalf who will skipper the Blue Bulls Legends side – adding a compelling cross-sport dimension to the occasion.

The day is a full double header. Proceedings kick off with the Titans Women taking on the Lions Women in a T20 clash that promises pace, flair, and no shortage of fireworks. The women’s match sets the stage perfectly before the legends take centre field at 2:00 PM.

Celebrity Umpires

Adding further colour and entertainment to the afternoon, the Legends Match will feature three celebrated celebrity umpires whose names are as familiar to South African sports fans as the crack of bat on ball:

Fanie de Villiers, the legendary fast bowler, swaps the new ball for the umpire hat. He is joined by Wynie Strydom and Joubert Strydom - names synonymous with Pretoria sport, ensuring the officiating will be every bit as entertaining as the play itself.

With a ground celebrating four decades of history, two iconic captains, women’s T20 cricket on the undercard, and celebrity umpires guaranteed to raise a laugh, this is an event for the whole family. Do not miss the chance to be part of a SuperSport Park afternoon that will live long in the memory.
