A powerful journey of endurance, hope and social impact is unfolding on South African roads as Mshengu Tshabalala, Moses Aphane, Jeremiah Mkhwanazi and Frankie Motsepe continue their ambitious walk from Pretoria to Cape Town.

The group departed from Parys on Wednesday and are heading towards Kroonstad as part of the Abahambi Be Tshwane Foundation’s national charity campaign.

The initiative, organised by the Abahambi Be Tshwane Foundation, aims to raise awareness and mobilise support for vulnerable communities and charitable causes across the country.

Founded in Tshwane, the foundation promotes unity, social responsibility and community development through endurance walking initiatives. The current route stretches approximately 1,500km and takes participants through several towns and provinces before reaching Cape Town.

Communities along the route have already started rallying behind the walkers, offering encouragement and support as they continue the demanding challenge.

Chairperson Mshengu Tshabalala said the walk represents more than physical endurance.

“We want South Africans to understand that this is about unity, compassion and creating opportunities to help communities in need. Every step carries purpose.”

The foundation hopes the campaign will attract support from businesses, community organisations and ordinary citizens who believe in collective action and social change.

As the walkers make their way towards Kroonstad in the Free State, their journey has been inspiring conversations around resilience, giving and the importance of standing together as a nation.

The Abahambi Be Tshwane Foundation’s motto captures the spirit of the campaign: “One Team. One Dream.”
