A woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old man who died after being assaulted in Nobody village, outside Polokwane, Limpopo police said on Saturday.
The suspect was arrested following an investigation into an assault that took place on 30 December 2025 at the Nobody RDP section, within the Mankweng policing area.
According to Limpopo SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, the victim had agreed to meet the woman at Nobody village, but the circumstances surrounding the meeting remain unclear.
“Police investigations revealed that the suspect screamed, after which the victim was brutally assaulted and robbed of his belongings by the suspect and her male accomplice,” Mashaba said.
The injured man was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but no case was opened at the time.
On 13 January 2026, the victim was reported dead at hospital due to injuries sustained during the assault, prompting police to register a murder case.
Mashaba said detectives moved swiftly, leading to the arrest of the female suspect at a rented accommodation in Nobody village shortly after the case was reported.
Limpopo provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the arrest and praised officers for their prompt response.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 January 2026, on a charge of murder.
Police said investigations are continuing and the search for the male accomplice is ongoing.
