Tshwane Mayor, Nasiphi Moya, has suspended MMC Kholofelo Morodi following claims that she allegedly sent internal tender documents to Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, an officer implicated in criminal activities.

Morodi, who heads Corporate and Shared Services in the city, is accused of sharing sensitive internal procurement information with Nkosi.

Evidence before the Madlanga Commission , including WhatsApp exchanges, allegedly links her directly to the transmission of tender-related material and discussions tied to a contentious Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) security tender.

Nkosi has testified that he received documents from Morodi relating to a land lease tender, further alleging her involvement in conversations that point to attempts to influence procurement outcomes.

The claims, emerging from proceedings linked to the Madlanga Commission, have raised alarm over potential interference in municipal contracting processes.

Moya’s office confirmed the suspension is effective immediately, pending a full investigation.

The move signals a firm stance as scrutiny intensifies over the integrity of Tshwane’s tender systems and the safeguarding of public resources.

Political reaction was swift. ActionSA welcomed the suspension and confirmed it has launched its own internal probe.

The party said it supports Moya’s efforts to uphold accountability, stressing that all allegations must be rigorously tested.

“South Africans are all too familiar with political parties that delay action or ignore serious claims,” the party said, pledging zero tolerance for corruption and a commitment to uncovering the full truth.

ActionSA also commended Moya for initiating engagement with the commission and ensuring cooperation between the city and investigators.
