South Africans can expect a mix of warm to hot conditions and scattered showers as the week progresses, according to the South African Weather Service.
Eastern & Central Regions: Parts of the eastern and central provinces will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the next few days. Pretoria is forecast to see temperatures at around 24°C on Wednesday, with lows around 16–17°C. Johannesburg will remain warm, with highs between 25–26°C. Polokwane is slightly cooler, with highs between 21–23°C.
Coastal Cities: Along the coast, Cape Town will feel the heat, with highs of 28°C on Tuesday and Wednesday, while Durban will see highs of 24–26°C and warm nights around 20°C. Port Elizabeth and East London can expect highs in the mid-20s, cooling slightly midweek.
Interior & Northern Regions: The western interior and northern areas will face extremely hot conditions. Upington is forecast to reach 37°C on Tuesday and Wednesday, while Bloemfontein will remain scorching with highs around 30–31°C.
Warnings: The SA Weather Service has issued an Orange Level 5 warning for disruptive rainfall in Limpopo’s Musina and Collins Chabane municipalities on Monday, urging residents to take precautions.
The week will see a combination of hot conditions in the interior and south-western regions, while showers and thundershowers may bring relief to eastern and central areas. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, protect themselves from the sun, and monitor local forecasts for updates on possible heavy rainfall.
