Ilano Ntomazane Gazayo has become the latest housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi (S6: Bazozwa), bringing her journey on the popular reality show to an emotional close and officially confirming the season’s Top 10 finalists.
Gazayo was the only contestant eliminated from a pool of nine nominated housemates this week, surviving multiple nomination rounds before her exit during Sunday night’s live eviction show.
Known in the house for her vibrant personality, bold fashion statements and creative flair, Ilano carved out a distinct space for herself among viewers and fellow contestants.
She was widely recognised for styling her fellow housemates, often taking the lead on hair and glam ahead of live shows and themed events.
Following her eviction, Ilano’s team released a heartfelt statement on Instagram thanking supporters who had voted and championed her throughout her stay in the Bazozwa house.
“Firstly, thank you for your unwavering dedication and support for Ilano. Her journey on Big Brother Mzansi has come to an end, but this is not the end of her story. It is simply the beginning of a new chapter, one filled with greater wins and many exciting opportunities that we would love for you to be part of,” the statement read.
Her team described her participation in the show as a long-held dream fulfilled, saying the platform allowed her to showcase her talents, energy and individuality on a national stage.
“Being part of Big Brother Mzansi was truly a blessing for Ilano. She wanted this, and it was evident. She used the platform to showcase her incredible talents, vibrant energy and to proudly represent the LGBTIQ+ community in the best way she knew how. She remained authentic, fearless and unapologetically herself throughout.”
Supporters were urged to continue backing her beyond the show, with her team emphasising that the exposure gained from the competition would open new doors.
“Your encouragement, your votes, your messages and your unwavering belief in her are what made this experience so meaningful. Every cheer and every kind word served as a reminder of why she entered that house in the first place, to shine brightly and stay true to who she is,” the statement added.
During her exit interview, Ilano reflected on her role in the house, particularly her contribution behind the scenes as the go-to stylist for many contestants.
She was asked whether she felt truly seen and appreciated by her fellow housemates, given the effort she consistently put into helping them prepare for key moments in the game.
Her eviction also triggered an emotional response inside the house. Fellow housemate Que was visibly moved as he watched her leave, highlighting the close bonds formed during the season.
With Ilano’s departure, the competition now narrows to the final 10 housemates, as viewers continue to determine who will ultimately claim the Big Brother Mzansi S6 title.
