South Africa’s gospel music scene is about to break new ground with the launch of the country’s first multi-day camping gospel festival, the Gauteng Gospel Explosion at the Gardens, taking place from November 28 to 30, 2025, at Zwartkop Lapa Resort in Centurion.

With an expected crowd of 10 000 worshippers, a 24-artist lineup and comprehensive safety arrangements, the event marks a bold new chapter for faith-based entertainment in the country.

Three Days of Worship, Music and Community

Friday, November 28 – Camping Under the Stars The weekend opens with an evening of acoustic worship and fellowship as campers settle in for the first night. Performers include Snare Ncalu and a guest DJ. In partnership with the City of Tshwane, the first 50 registered campers will enjoy a complimentary guided hiking experience.

Saturday, November 29 – The Main Event Saturday will see 24 award-winning artists take the stage, including Franna Benade, Lebo Sekgobela, Zaretha van Wyk, Khaya Mthethwa, Ayanda Ntanzi, Solly Mahlangu, Puleng March, Ruan Josh and Paul K. They’ll be joined by a strong MC lineup featuring Mazondi, Janine van Niekerk, Kokimoff, Sibongile Mofokeng and Ditsebe.com with Tshepi M.

Festivalgoers can also browse vendor stalls showcasing small businesses and enjoy a children’s play area with slides and foam baths.

Sunday, November 30 – Closing and Departure The event wraps up Sunday morning as campers prepare to depart, concluding a weekend of worship, community and celebration.

Safety and Diversity at the Core

Festival Project Manager Peter Maruping says the lineup reflects the country’s diversity and passion for gospel music.

“We looked at who’s making waves in the gospel scene and who truly represents the diversity of our nation,” Maruping says. “This lineup unites all people through worship - across colours, languages and backgrounds.”

Security measures include collaboration between private security, the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe experience for all attendees.

The event will be held at the Zwartkop Lapa Resort, Centurion, Gauteng tickets: Available at Computicket.
