High-flying TS Galaxy need to reset and focus on their upcoming Nedbank Cup fixture against NFD Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Friday night (7pm kick-off).

Through the guidance of Adnan Beganovic, The Rockets have been breaking through the clouds, and the sky is no longer the limit as they now move their attention to yet another competition that they hold close to their hearts.

Galaxy have made a complete U-turn on their shaky start to their season, and from being rooted at the bottom of the Premiership log with four losses from their six matches... how the tables have turned.

The Mbombela-based outfit haven’t tasted defeat since the Bosnian mentor took over, and their rise under his guidance has not only been evident in their style of play, but the results have been forthcoming as they have now climbed the ranks and are rubbing shoulders with the best the league has to offer in fourth place.

Fresh off a solid 1-0 over league favourites Mamelodi Sundowns, Galaxy will make the long trip to KwaZulu-Natal high on confidence against the Golden Boys.

Formerly known as Maritzburg United, Simo Dladla and his troops have been in a league of their own as they have been leading the way in the Motsepe Foundation Championship (NFD) with a five-point advantage over Orbit College, with a handful of matches still left to be played before the season draws to a close.

Beganovic and his Galaxy side will know all about the competition and the upsets in store, following their 1-0 win in the 2018/19 season against Kaizer Chiefs in the final to become the first lower-division side to win the competition.

The Rockets have won four of their last five matches in all tournamens, and they head to Durban after having handed Vasco da Gama a harsh lesson with a 7-0 rout a fortnight ago in the round of 32.

Beganovic will be taking charge of his 13th match, and to maintain his strong start, his team must build on the momentum from their recent victory against Sundowns, where Kamogelo Sebelebele scored the winner just before halftime on Tuesday night.

But they cannot afford to be hungover from that victory at the risk of becoming the latest PSL team to bite the dust.

They will be facing a Durban City side that are currently in pole position to secure their place in the top-flight next season, and they have all the tools to derail The Rockets from leaving the launchpad.

City have lost only three league matches this season, and they have won four of their last five NFD games. They have conceded the joint least number of goals, with second-placed Mswenko Boys.

That stat suggests that they are a well-organised side, and they will pose a lot of danger, and for Beganovic and his charges to take a step closer to their second title, they will need to work hard to earn their spot.
