Tyla and DJ Zinhle win big at Basadi in Music Awards 2024

The Basadi in Music Awards (BIMAs) took place this weekend at the Johannesburg Theatre and it was a night of big wins for Tyla and DJ Zinhle. Both artists walked away with three awards each, making them the stars of the evening.

Tyla, whose hit song "Water" has been making waves, won Song of the Year, Song with the Highest Airplay and the prestigious International Achievement Award.

Meanwhile, DJ Zinhle, a powerhouse in the music industry and a successful businesswoman, took home DJ of the Year, Collaboration of the Year and the coveted Trailblazer accolades.

The BIMAs celebrate the achievements of female artists in the music industry, including DJs, singers, rappers, composers, producers, and other creatives.

Zinhle expressed her gratitude on social media, saying, "I can't process these feelings...🥹🙏🏾 I'm so grateful."

The event, hosted by Unathi Nkayi, featured performances from top artists like Amanda Black, Skye Wanda, and Mmatema.

The night ended with a high-energy set from DJ Kmatt, leaving the audience buzzing.
