Nicki Minaj has sent shockwaves through the music industry with a cryptic tweet that has left fans fearing that the hip-hop icon may be stepping away from music for good.

The multi-award-winning rapper took to X on October 15 to announce that she will not be releasing her highly anticipated album NM6 which was due to be released in 2026, sparking widespread concern and speculation about her future in the industry.

“Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now @sc. Bye Barbz. Love you for life.” the tweet reads.

Many fans quickly speculated that Nicki Minaj’s decision may have been influenced by music mogul Jay-Z, after she tagged him in her tweet.

In another post, Nicki Minaj shared her frustration, saying that certain people were trying to stop her from releasing new music. She added that her success seems to make others feel threatened and that the situation did not have to turn out this way.

She suggested that some in the industry know just how successful her upcoming album would be, which may be why they are standing in her way.

“They don’t want me to put out music. Me winning makes them feel like they lost. They’re right. However, it didn’t have to be this way. Lots of (people) part ways in business. They know how successful my next album is going to be.

“Tried to sign Wayne, Drake, me. So they keep wanting to take or stop my money simply b/c narcissists believe what you work hard for belongs to them. Fuming b/c they can’t siphon anymore energy, money, blessings, love, grace, joy, PEACE... the culture. No successful tours. Just vibes & payola. CasiNO,” tweet reads.

This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has publicly clashed with Jay-Z. She previously claimed that he owes her $200 million related to her alleged equity stake in his music streaming platform, TIDAL.
