Rachel Kolisi has reassured fans that she’s recovering well after revealing that she recently landed in the hospital.

The media personality shared a series of pictures from her hospital bed on Instagram, including pictures of herself on a wheeled stretcher in a hospital gown as well as moments with close friends and family who visited her during her stay.

In her usual fashion, she approached the situation with humour despite clearly going through a health scare.“Had a few ideas for the caption of this one!” she joked.

“Took @fallingforward__ a little too seriously. POV: when you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Nothing like morphine and friendship. Doctors said, ‘Take a load off.’ I got competitive.”

While she didn’t reveal why she was admitted, the “Falling Forward” author reassured worried followers that there was no need to panic. “On a serious note, all is well. What a blessing it is to be loved,” she added.

The post was soon flooded with messages from friends, followers and fellow celebrities wishing her a speedy recovery.

“Oh my goodness 🙆🏽‍♀️wishing you a speedy recovery! 🙏🏾💙,” wrote @melissanayimuli.  Meanwhile, @tania__page added: “Sometimes even the strongest hearts need rest ❤️Wishing you healing, strength and brighter days ahead. Rest well Rachel, thinking of you 🌸🙏.”

The hospital update comes during a season where she has been sharing more candid and personal moments online.

Recently, she had social media laughing after posting a cooking video where she playfully reclaimed her identity following her split from Springboks captain Siya Kolisi.

Before even starting the recipe, Rachel grabbed a marker and crossed out the “r” on her apron that originally read “Mrs Kolisi”, leaving it reading “Ms Kolisi” instead.

The moment had tongues wagging and eyebrows raised when it went viral online, with social media users praising her sense of humour and unbothered energy.

Speaking candidly during a recent interview, she explained that keeping the surname is largely about creating stability and consistency for her children during a major life adjustment.

After years of moving around and adapting to divorced parents, she said maintaining the family name helps provide a sense of comfort and familiarity for them.
